Why is my bill higher if I already have solar?
Changes in fuel costs and household use can raise bills, even with solar. A higher bill is a reason to review your usage and production, rather than assume all your panels need replacing.
Can a battery help after sunset?
A battery can store daytime solar energy for use later, including the evening. How much it covers depends on your system, battery capacity, and energy use.
Will an upgrade affect my NEM agreement?
For eligible existing NEM customers, Hawaiian Electric's NEM Plus allows added non-export panels or storage without changing the existing NEM agreement. Ask about your current program before choosing an upgrade.
